Jen and I have decided to take my mom up on her offer to let us move in for a while as we look for a permanent place to live. We want to buy but are still in the process of looking and saving so this is a great opportunity for us. We'll get to save a lot and not be too far from work at the same time.
We just moved in yesterday and even though I got movers to do most of the heavy lifting, I still did a lot, and my body is sore as heck today. Took a nap this afternoon and I never do that unless I am exhausted.
The future is a bit uncertain at this moment but we both agreed it was the right decision to leave our cool Los Feliz apartment in lieu of upping for another year on the lease.
The first domain I ever bought was xero79.com some seven years ago. I've since let it go and I am no longer the owner of it. It was the home to my first blog. xero79 was and still is my yahoo user name. I made it up probably over 10 years ago now.
It was a good domain and it will be missed.
Spent most of my time working like a good boy should and the down time over weekends had me busy but can't recall much of them at the present moment.
One thing we did was hang out at Louie's for Monique's birthday. That was a fun time with the family. As a side note, Louie sounds determined to go to finally make the trip tp New York to see the Yankees play at old Yankee Stadium. After next season (2008), the Yankees will take up residence at a brand spanking new stadium.
With the new baseball season getting closer a bunch of us got together to buy a ticket package for the Dodgers again. Going to a lot of games. See ya at the Shortstop!
Let's see, tonight is a bday party for Jon, tomorrow is the Super Bowl, and next week is my bday.
I had my best fantasy football season evar, finishing in fifth place, second place, and two third places in the four leagues, yes four, that I participated in.
The second place finish was in my only for-money league and it landed me a nice little $300 windfall. sweeeeet!
Yahoo has a cool fantasy profile that has all my data going back to 1999. My stats aren't too impressive since I've played in plenty of leagues that I didn't give a crap about.
I don't watch much tv. Well, actually, I watch a ton of it but it's mostly of sporting events or movies. I don't have a slew of television shows that I watch on a regular basis. I guess that's what I mean when I proudly state that I don't watch tv. Whatever. tv is great. I just wish there were more shows of interest to me. I'm gaga over Battlestar Gallactica and that has been my show of the year. I'm a total johnny come lately on this but I don't care. Better late than never. I love me some Battlestar and highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. But that's not what this post is about. This post is about the fact that I now have a second show that I like to watch. Two shows! That really makes me a tv show watcher, doesn't it? The second show is Sleeper Cell on Showtime. I'm a total johnny come lately with this one as well. I haven't even watched the latest season yet. I just finished the first season which is available for free on On Demand. I don't even subscribe to Showtime, but the gf does so I can go over there and watch it. Or maybe I'll just order it. I don't know.

I can't believe that the year is about up.
I know, I know... what a cliche, but for myself, personally, I have found this to be one hell of a fast year. The fastest on record to date. And yes, I keep such mental records.
Maybe it had to do with having spent a quarter of the year living abroad? That, and the fact that this is the first year in a long while that I have had a girlfriend? We do a lot together so it's not just my calendar that sets my social agenda. As Borat would say, I like.
I want to do so much and I am but I want to do more. I'm excited as hell about the upcoming year. For many reasons, both personal and professional.
I'm excited about the web again and all that is happening in the social networking space and the possibilities that "web 2.0" have created. I'm excited about my personal web sites that include simple updates posted over at jorgemir.com via twitter, a personal mix-tape like podcast over at wordsandguitar.com, and my old school blog at xero79.com that is now the house that links built. Over the past year or so I've totally gotten away from blogging. Not totally, but this type of blogging where I just write about me, my life, and the things I'm into or pissed off about. It was for the typical reasons like job security, insecurity or other lame reasons.
My New Year's resolution is to blog more. I know it's been written and said before but I have more of a reason to get back to it since it is a part of my life in a bigger way than in the past and I love it.
